Lenox is a small but affluent town in Berkshire County, Massachusetts in Western Massachusetts. Lenox, part of the Pittsfield metropolitan area, has a population of 5,000 and it is well-known as the site of Tanglewood, the Boston Symphony Orchestra's summer home. The town includes New Lenox and Lenoxdale, a summer tourist destination.

Lenox was first an industrial town that focused on farming, textile mills, and sawmills. Later, its rustic beauty and small-town charm transformed it into an art colony. It was the extension of the railroad in the early 19th century that led to an increasing population of tourists.

Unlike many rural towns in Massachusetts, Lenox has a large number of condominium and townhouse complexes, many of which has been built in the last decade to accommodate tourists and summer residents. Single-family homes in Lenox are usually large with sprawling acreage and forest views. The classic Colonial style home is common in Lenox, with many homes boasting large farmers porches. There are also a number of contemporary homes built in subdivisions over the last twenty years as well as ranch-style homes built in the 1950s and 1960s.
