Hubbardston is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts with a population of about 4,500 people. The town's economy was originally based on agriculture and cottage industries and it was first described as a sparse, agricultural, "poor town." As the town moved away from agriculture, it transformed into a largely residential community, although it's early history is still apparent in its beautiful architecture and historic farmhouses.
Hubbardston has been the site of a great deal of recent home construction, including many single-family Cape Cod and Colonial homes on smaller plots of land. There has also been the addition of many townhouses and condominiums over the last few years, most of which have about 1,600 square feet of living space.
Despite the addition of new homes, there are still many historic properties for sale in Hubbardston. Many older homes are made in the Cape Cody style and located on larger plots of land with private wooded views. There are also many farmhouses in Hubbardston with sprawling open acreage.
